Plagued by injuries and unable to secure crucial victories throughout the year, the Dolphins look toward a final home game against the defending NFL Champion Pittsburgh Steelers to close out their season. Players will need to motivate themselves with something other than playoff hopes, looking towards pride and their roster spots as alternate drives.
And while this gloom and doom has reached the souls of many DolFans, faint sounds of champagne bottles popping in celebration are still heard.
Thanks to the New York Jets (which seems like an oxymoron), the DolFans still have something to cheer about. By defeating the 14-0 Indianapolis Colts, the Jets preserved the 1972 Miami Dolphins' perfect season. This means the place called Perfectville will stay at a conservative population of one. It will be at least one more season before any other NFL team takes a shot at joining the neighborhood.
